Hats off to India for a bold and innovative mission to Mars. For a fraction of the cost of other missions. They have shown how space flight can be done by any country with the will to explore new frontiers. Some have raised questions about why do it when the country is filled with poverty. They are short sighted. This will create higher paying jobs in India to meet the demand for space vehicles which can be used to find, and return with resources which do not exist on Earth. Remember, if you are locked into consuming finite resources, there is a day where they first become precious. Soon after, those resources become too valuable to consume. We have many examples of culture death brought about by exhaustion of resources. Water is a classic example. The abandoned Pueblo settlements are what any population center expands. There is the old adage that whiskey is for drinking, but water is for fighting. I would rather see us build than fight. The universe is a dangerous place, and only a fool fights in a burning house.
