Have I got the community event for you this week. Festival of the Arts 2014. This was the premiere place to see local art WAY before ArtPrize was thought up. In a lot of ways, it still is. Add to this the several venues in downtown Grand Rapids that offer musical performances from local groups, theatre, storytelling, dancing, you name it. Oh! And dont forget the food. The variety of ethnic foods is amazing. And delicious. Kids will have a blast as well. They can enjoy creating their own art, listening to stories, face painting, playing on a giant tire swing – and much more. As one of the longest-running festivals in Michigan, the 45th Festival of the Arts offers three fun-filled, jam-packed days of art, music, culture and food. I highly recommend this for a great time with the entire family. Just make sure to bring the sunscreen and keep everyone hydrated! Are you ready to bite into some Elephant Ears?
