Have another reported grass fire near Gold Hill that is likely going to have mowing and weed eating as the ignition source. People PLEASE........if you have dead grass that you need to mow or use a weed eater on, today is NOT the day to do it. You procrastinated too long and the fire danger has become high enough that mowing and weed eating IS going to start fires. There have been two today for sure where that was the case. If you see somebody mowing tall dead grass or using a weed eater on the same.......MAKE THEM STOP!! It is foolhardy dangerous behavior right now. Next weekend should be good weather for doing that kind of activity as we expect to see showers, maybe even rain, and much higher humidity. And if you have tall grass that you need to attend to....you best plan to get it done then because once that cooler, wetter weather is gone, we will get right back to sunny warm days, and then mowing and weed eating will be starting fires again.
