Have had a lovely family day out with all 5 grandchildren, Hayley Smith, Bianca Barber and Craig Barber at Thrigby Wildlife Gardens - the weather was good - the children behaved and played really well together and had a great time. However.....I really wish that some people would learn that being disabled does NOT entitle them to be opinionated and rude - I did NOT take kindly to being told very angrily and pointedly that my youngest grandson would be better on a hand lead so that everyone could enjoy their time!!!! She then went on to tell me how she had already had a word with the eldest grandson telling him where he could get such an item!!! 2 year olds are meant to run around and have fun - the same as 4,5 and 6 year olds. I was actually taken aback and refrained from telling her that her motorised wheelchair with one leg stuck straight out in front was actually a trip hazard and that she should really at her age have learned to keep her opinions to herself!!! The best bit however was 10 minutes later seeing the same lady walking along pushing her own wheelchair!!! Grrrr Rant over - and no I didnt let it spoil my day :-)
