Have vent just a little bit here because of in-game and post-game coverage. Other than Chris Chancellor of Cfc, one of the best plays made Saturday night has not been giving the credit its due. The backbreaking 81-yard pitch, catch and run by the combo of Halliday and Vince Mayle likely doesnt happen without the heady play of 160lb RS freshman Robert Lewis. The overwhelming majority of WRs who arent the target of their QB might transition into blocking mode...and maybe not. Lewis could have easily trailed along side of Mayle as Vince continued crossing the field. Instead the young man delivered as good a block as you will ever see, virtually de-cleating a Ute DB to clear a path for Vince to do his thing. Neither announcer on the PAC12 network credited Lewis, which frustrated the heck out of me. Its the outstanding, consistent blocking by the WRs that are making the video-game numbers this passing attack is producing a reality. From my chair, that play by Lewis exemplified the growth of this team and what they can and will do when focused. GO COUGS!!!
