Have yal ever experienced Re-gifting??? My mom use to save her gifts and she would re-gift them. (she did this in her 80s. Well, one Christmas I received the gift I had given to her the year before. Another time, She also went through her house and made a huge donation to the Mission. While back home-one of the many trips as she was declining, I stopped at the mission to see what they had--and low and behold, there was my art work--my name and grade was on the back of it. I bought it back--cost me 75 cents. My dad loved Christmas, he always bought nuts, apples, oranges, and hard candy. This was a tradition handed down through his family. O, I cant forget the Orange Slices-candy, he loved that-especially in his declining years. Our church also gave a bag of candy which included the orange, apple, nuts and hard candy. SO, as you can tell, I am now excited about making my own memories---no re-gifting, no hard candy-other than Peanut Brittle, but I am guilty of giving things to the Salvation Army In fact, I have a collection in the garage now ready for a pick up to the Salvation Army. Memories are strange--some we incorporate into our life and some we avoid-but theyre all memories.
