The fasts are longer so you will have to change your routine in such a way that it does not affect work and Ibaadah (worshiping Allah) • Are your children excited about Ramadan? • Have you obtained your local Ramadan Timetable? • Have you bought Dates & Other essentials? • Have you allocated time to read the holy Quran? • Have you forgiven and made up with your relatives and friends? You expect Allah (SWT) to forgive you but have you forgiven others? Use this month to mend the broken ties, invite your family and friends for Iftaar in order to create peace and harmony. • Have you calculated your Zakat? Engage with your kids more and more in creative activities that remind them of Ramadan. (Reading the moral story books in group etc) • Have you bought all necessities for the month of Ramadan in advance so you can spend less time during the holy month rushing around? You can be more focused on your religious rituals and spiritual development. Everyone in the family, even the kids, can participate, writing a shopping list, preparing some meals to be stored in the freezer. • Have you arranged your CD collection to make it easy to select and play nice Nasheed (Hamd/Naat) to sing along together or Quran and Dua recitation, so as to introduce the spirit of the month? • Have you prepared your kids before Ramadan that they have to help you more in housework and in setting the table and preparing Iftar.
