Have you ever experienced having a friend, and seeing your friend make wrong decisions. Yet you do all you can in your power to give that friend the right advice. But no matter what you do or say, at the end of the day it’s still up to your friend to decide. I guess I know how God feels now. To see us make wrong choices, to have the Holy Spirit convict us of our actions, to have His Word to instruct our ways… yet we still choose what is wrong. It hurts a lot, and it’s really frustrating. You’re not angry with the person but you’re upset with their choices. You wish you could decide for them, but because of free will you can’t do a thing but hope that they listen to you. This situation has made me realize the heart of God, how He longs for us. How He longs that we do what is right, and how His heart breaks when we go down the wrong path. How His anger is kindled by the things that lead us astray, and by how much He hates sin. At that even if we make mistakes, He will always be there to love us despite it all. Indeed we are so blessed to have a Father who loves extravagantly.
