In his book Leadership Gold, John Maxwell explained the Pareto principle as follows: 80 % of traffic jams occur on 20 % of the roads. 80 % of beer is consumed by 20 % of drinkers. 80 % of classroom participation comes from 20 percent of students. 80 % of the time you wear 20 % of your clothes. 80 % of the profits come from 20 % of the customers. 80 % of problems are generated by 20 % of the employees. 80 % of sales are generated by 20 % of the salespeople. 80% of all decisions can be made on 20 % of the information. In essence, the best 20 % of all your activities are 16 times more productive than the remaining 80 % of what you do. Therefore, to improve your productivity, increase your leadership capacity, and decrease the complexities of your daily life, get rid of 80 % of the crap you do each day. Find and focus on the top 20 %. “AHA!” Do you feel me?
