Have you ever had somebody tell you they have Fibromyalgia because they have pain? I had somebody tell me they knew they had Fibro because they have hand pain. I asked them if the pain was widespread throughout their body and they said no. I asked if they had tender points and they said no. I asked if they had chronic fatigue and again they said no. I asked if they battled with some other health issues and again I heard no. I was beyond frustrated with the conversation because I found it a waste of my time and being they never had pain anywhere else and NONE of the other ailments I was bothered she would even say she had Fibromyalgia. We have enough problem with trying to get awareness and having people just say they have it because their hand hurts is not enough. I did ask if she was diagnosed and she said no her friend has it and she just knows she has it as well. Living with Fibromyalgia is a nightmare at best at times. This is not a oh I hurt I must have Fibro diagnosis. I did suggest she see a Rheumatologist to see if it is Arthritis or the beginnings of RA. I will admit I do get bothered when people claim they have something just because!
