Have you ever heard the saying, “Love can make you do some crazy things”? Well, I used to believe that until I really started reading the word. The Bible tells us that “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres” – 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Then I thought about the scripture that says an eye for an eye. “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also” – Matthew 5:38-39 Then this, “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you” – Luke 6:27-28 If someone treats us unkind or does something that is ungodly, we are NOT supposed to get even. If someone does something to someone we love, we are NOT supposed to take revenge on them. I’ll keep it real, this is a hard pill for me to swallow and I am praying for some help in this area. Our flesh wants to attack back, but that is NOT of God! Lord help us to control our flesh in the precious name of Jesus, Amen!
