Have you ever noticed that while you are throwing yourself a huge pity party over things that aren’t going right that God often steps in and writes you a HUGE reality check? That happened to me at work today. I have had some big disappointments over the last few days, and then today at work a client calls to let us know they would be travelling over the next couple of weeks. I replied “How wonderful! I hope you have a safe trip and a great time!” The client then replied “Thank you, we will. Our child got chosen for the “Make-A-Wish” program!” SLAM!!!! I was an emotional train wreck in about 2.3 seconds. I was thrilled for them and being chosen, and then completely devastated in the same instant because of the reason WHY they were chosen. Sometimes we completely lose track of the fact that no matter how awful our lives may seem, there is always someone worse off than we are. Thank you, God, for the not so subtle reminder to be truly for ALL the blessings in your life, no matter how small they may seem.
