Start creating some of your own artworks; we are now calling for artists! Call-out to Artists: Nanaimos Gallery Row is a local, outdoor art gallery at 308 Fitzwilliam St. beside G.E.M. Fabrications Gates & Gifts. Gallery Row has provided the successful opportunity for Nanaimo Artists to expose their work to the community for ~13 years. Several pieces have been commissioned for artists to complete as a result of their art being displayed at Gallery Row. Gallery Row’s annual Art Festival will take place on Saturday, August 30th from 12-4 pm. Last years artworks will go up for auction with all proceeds being donated to Community Art Education programs at the Nanaimo Art Gallery. What does the artist receive? -Opportunity to establish, expand and showcase your Portfolio -Your name and title of work to be displayed on our annual Artists Frame -Your name, short profile, a link to your online portfolio and an image of your artwork to be viewable on the Gallery Row website -Your name, short profile, a link to your online portfolio and an image of your artwork may be featured on our Facebook Page: https://facebook/GemFabrications.GalleryRow -Artwork showcased amongst beautifully restored heritage buildings in an outdoor art gallery in the gateway to the Old City Quarter -Opportunity to expose artwork to the community and tourists, potentially leading to commissioning of additional / custom artworks -Networking opportunities with fellow artists and building relationships in the local arts community -Support Community Art Education programs at the Nanaimo Art Gallery through donation of the funds raised at auction from your artwork -Be part of a grass-roots event planning committee With support of an event planner, you have the opportunity to be creative with ideas and planning of Gallery Rows annual Art Festival What do you have to do to become an Artist at Gallery Row? -Submit artwork/proposal by August 1st, 2014. Please inquire if additional time is required. -Ensure your artwork is securely fastened to the mounting plate provided -Protect your artwork from the elements with a clear UV protection varnish front and back.
