Have you heard of the “Sagaribana”? Every year from late June to late July, this kind of flower called “Sagaribana” (Barringtonia racemosa) blooms on Iriomote Island (one of the outer islands, 40 minutes from Ishigaki Island by ferry). But that’s not all, the interesting thing is that this kind of flower blooms at night and withers in the morning. If you ever visit Iriomote Island during this season, try a canoeing tour at night to see these flowers!
