Have you noticed that the Principals & Vice-Principals Association remains the one solitary group that has not mentioned anything at all on the labour dispute? There has been a cacophony of voices (Trustees, Parents, Teachers, some MLAs) in support of adequate funding for public education... but nothing from school and district administrators. Hmmm, their silence speaks volumes! And, in September theyll be dumbfounded, while scratching their heads, and say... I dont understand the chasm between administrators and teachers... after all, were all on the same team. Really? Are we? You knew that this was wrong... and yet you remained silent. Ya, RIGHT!!! Oh, sure... Ive heard the... It would be career suicide, and the... They could get fired argument... but, history has shown us, repeatedly, what blind, unquestioning, obedience is capable of... particularly, when there is a moral imperative to do the right thing. They have nothing to say about the rule of law? They have nothing to say about the lack of bargaining in good faith? They have nothing to say about class size and composition issues? They have nothing to say about the lack of adequate funding for public education? Hmmm, soooo, climbing the “corporate ladder” is more important than strength of character, moral principles, shared ethical values, and integrity? That is astoundingly disingenuous. Moral fiber and honour have been replaced by cowardice! WOW! Reminds me of the maxim I was just following orders. Truly, very, very, disappointing!
