PRESS COUNCIL The Press Council is an independent co-regulator mechanism set up by the print media in South Africa to settle disputes between the print media and members of the public over published editorial content. Members of the public have the capacity to lodge complaints about disputed content with the Press Council’s Ombudsmen who may investigate claims and, if appropriate bring the matter before an Adjudication Panel.
