Having been at the LSU game last night...without the genius of Gary & Vern & for first the first time legitimately not understanding several aspects late during the game I could use some clarification: some of these questions are fact based, while others are strictly opinions ( which usually ends in thats just Les being Les). So fellow football nerds help me answer a few of these, even if you can only answer a couple at a time: 1. After we get the fumble back on the 5 late in the 5th...what exactly as the massive unsportsmanlike call for, considering both teams seemed to be jawing & pushing. That 15 yards changed 4 shots at a touchdown from 5 yards out to, the necessity if a 40 yard fieldgoal. 2. Ok we make it & kick off-as a head coach is calling a squib quib kick in that situation really worth the upside? Theres always the option of that squip squirting out of bads and giving Bama the ball at the 35 instead of typical 20 yard or so. 3. Why was the the little freshman white guy receiver who dropped several passes not given a review of what was ruled a no-catch on that drive when he appeared to actually scoop it up. Lea was mad at something & even called a time-out but there was no review. 4. Back to Bama having the ball on their last drive was lat legit 20-something yard pass that put them fg terroritory. It look short, like it hit the ground first. Again, no review, this time a catch is ruled, and they run snap and play and ground immediately as if to prevent this from happening. 5. Lastly, Im not sure I can even type this and explain it...on the first OT. Bama takes a pass to the 1 and are tackled. A 15 yard pently puts them back at the 14/15. Does that now move the first down marker 10 yards from that marked point...hence the 5? We couldnt understand the placing of the first down at the time. * last thing was that punt stopped at the one not legit ably stopped there in the fourth quarter instead of being called a touch back? It looked like a stop on the one to us, but refs called it a touchback. If this is ridiculously too long & you dont want to read it all /and or answer any of it. No worries, just throwing it all out there.
