Having been responsible for a companies telecommunications Cisco was most often promoted. Once (thank God) after the installation that took several weeks to implement it would crash. a horrible experience! There was not one aspect of running this company that did not rely entirely on the network. With each crash the IT team hired would come out and for several days work long hours to get it up and running again. It took months (I still cringe) to get it corrected and setting up a manual, very time consuming method and training all employees to change was a nightmare causing me much grief and many please come to my office once in the office a war shout of DO YOU REALIZE THE UNEXPECTED COST WE ARE EXPERIENCING AS A RESULT OF THIS CHANGE OVER? this is FYI if your company has or has used this product. During Cisco’s recent quarterly financial report, the company admitted that it expects to spend $655 million to address a problem with a defective memory chip installed in many of their network devices. The memory chips were all purchased from a single provider from 2005 to 2010 and contain a defect that can allegedly cause Cisco’s network devices to shut down and stop working. The failure of a Cisco network device is potentially devastating as it can cause an entire network to crash or work improperly and may give rise to Cisco breach of warranty claims.
