Having collected more than 60+ Command & Unit Challenge Coins during these past 22 years as a Communications Officer with Naval Special Warfare, I was compelled to have the LT Michael Murphy Medal if Honor Challenge Coin as part of my collection. It will be a part if the limited edition/numbered SDV Team One Alpha Platoon Challenge Coin set I was honored to add to my collection back in 2007 from an SO1 from SDVT-1 who just checked in to the Det Kodiak while I was the N6 at the Center. In addition to Michael Murphy, This set included fellow Alpha Platoon team members; Shane Patton, James Suh, Dan Healy and Matt Axelson. In this set LT Murphys coin was inset with his Silver Star. The new coin is inset with his Medal of Honor (awarded posthumously). In the photos I have enclosed you will see LT Murphys two coins alone atop my copy of the compiled history of NSW. The next photo includes his four Team Mates I listed above, whose coin is set around the book top in the same order listed above. I also found it interesting his family who started the LT Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship foundation designed a Stamp using Michaels likeness; thought this was truly awesome. My deepest and most humble respects to LT Murphy, LT Murphys family, his Team Mates and his SEAL brothers. Hoo Yah !
