Having just a few acknowledge the effort and expense that the riders and their families put into an overseas trip has been nice. But typically most Australians want to bring down anyone who has the ability and commitment to pursue their dreams. Not everyone, but even a few negatives isnt warranted or needed for these riders in going forward. Reflecting on this trip over some brekky now, compared to the World Scene, everything in Australia is just a club day, yeah I can feel the knives and it will hurt a few but its the truth! Sure its a great place to learn the craft, but making this big leap without a solid base is a recipe for financial disaster and can also cripple ones confidence. Of all the riders that have made themselves household names internationally, almost 95% of them come from Dirt Track, motocross or being able to ride a dirt bike at an extremely high level. Theres a point to this post and like everything I say involving motorcycle rider development, I believe its 100% on the money. But most will disagree, why, because we are Australians. Thats why Im taking my stuff and going elsewhere!!
