Having never owned an actual coon hound could some of yall more experienced guys answer a question Ive always had? Why do tree hounds take the coon to tree? Do they not catch up to a coon in the ground race or do they just never engage the coon on the ground? Been watching too many hound movies on YouTube lately and it seems they pull hide on bear and lion, so why let a coon get to the tree? I put young curs on coon tracks in the corn this year and had almost none tree, 80% ish ground caught coons. I have enough experience with hogs however to know that sometimes what you see with your eyes isnt always the truth, so please explain. Thanks
