Having one of those days today. You know the ones I mean. Skies seem leaden. The sun seems to refuse to shine. Your prayers bounce off the ceiling and your sword just gets so very, very heavy. Your shield begins to droop and you feel like all you believe, all you hold dear is in question. Now, Ive been in armor long enough to know its the enemy of our souls who is on the attack and that this is his evil handiwork. But, when you question your calling and reason even for existing, its hard to shake it off, raise your shield, get a stronger grip on your sword and wade back into the battle. Sometimes, all you can do is cry out to Him and tell Him just how youre feeling. No apologies ahead of time. No can I tell You something without You getting mad at me...? kinds of preambles. Just say it. Just tell Him. You know what? He never fails. He never quits on us. He never gives up on us. His love is unfailing and His mercies are forever! Even in writing this, I can feel my wounds beginning to heal and His strength beginning to flow in me again. Today, I have fresh insight into what Paul meant when he said in 1 Cor. 2:19, But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. His power is made perfect in weakness. Im gonna be just fine.
