Having trouble sleeping .. These hospital beds are o so comfy ! I figured Id do an update on my labor story since I cant sleep. Overall , my pain level is so much lower than my delivery with coop ! My nurses (all three of them ... Ya I was here for a while lol) were amazing ! My Dr (Dr Chesney) totally whipped the pants off of my old Dr and showed he actually cared and Im not just some task on his list ... He actually spent a lot of time with us , whereas my last dr literally came in to catch the baby and sew me up after a terrible tear which she did not even take the time to numb me properly for . He coached me along with pushing for the whole last half and he came in to check on me at least 4 times during the day (I cannot sing his praises enough !!!) . My epidural was much better this time ... It allowed me to be able to have movement throughout the labor (which I think was really important and when I started to really change positions things progressed quickly) ... I was not completely numb & could change positions to hands and knees rocking & sitting up Indian style (I could not do this AT ALL with coop because I was completely numb). I could feel to push but I also was not in total agony because I waited long enough . While this labor was long ... Coops was 10 hours , Olivers was 15, my experience was WORLDS better than my prior . I am thoroughly impressed with the treatment and the caliber of all the labor and delivery professionals Ive had caring for me ... There is not one of them I can say was not awesome ! I did tear , but my tear was superficial , it was stitched up in about 10 minutes , as opposed to an hour , and did not hurt during the stitching . I also was up and walking to the bathroom an hour after labor , with coop I had to stay four days in the hospital due to not being able to walk at all without extreme assistance . Thankful to God for watching over all of us today . I got very discouraged at one point when I was not progressing for hours , but I know a long labor is what I needed to be able for my body to do it right . I feel confident that Ill be able to walk tomorrow with little to no assistance and am so happy about that ! I also want to say thank you to my wonderful mom Becky Cerio and sister Marie Cerio and my fantastic hubby for being the best pushing coaches / labor helpers a gal could ask for. You all rock!
