Yet faith is a dynamic that runs counter-intuitive to mankind. Generally people want to get to heaven by being good, or obtaining some hidden wisdom that qualifies them for eternal rewards. But since salvation is faith based; you have to believe what you can’t see, and believe the Bible. The evidence is never strong enough to compel people to believe if they refuse to. Though Satan himself was “full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty”(Ezek. 28) even in the presence of the glorious Almighty God he refused to believe that God was the omnipotent Creator. So Satan instigated his age-long war against God. So it has been through the ages: “when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful: but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened” (Rom 1).
