Hazrat Umar- husband of Hazrat Ali radhi Allahos daughter. Allah, the all-knowing and all-wise , knew there will be people who will question the nobility and excellence of noble people like Abu Bakr and Umar radhi Allaho anhuma, so Allah put measures in place that anyone with a clear mind , clear consciousness and clean heart wants to see the reality , will be able to do so. 1. Abu Bakr and Umar radhi Allaho anhuma are the only two blessed souls to be given the honour of resting with the prophet sallallaho alaihe wasallam till this day and upto Qiyamah, to rise with him and then be with him on the pond and beyond. 2. Allah has categorically forbidden believers, men and women in the Quran from marrying mushriks and kaafirs. Also no believer can imagine ever giving his daughter in marriage to a non-believer especially Hazrat Ali radhi Allaho anho who is known as the Lion of Allah. When Umme kulthoom , radhi Allaho anha , daughter of Hazrat Ali and Hazrat Fatimah , hence the grand-daughter of the prophet sallallaho alaihe wasallam and the sister of Hazrat Hasan and Husain radhi Allaho anhum, reached the age suitable for marriage, Hazrat Umar radhi Allaho anho approached Hazrat Ali and asked him for her hand in marriage. Initially Hazrat Ali declined the request saying that he had wanted to give her in marriage to his nephew Abdullah bin Jaa fer. Hazrat Umar continued to request Hazrat Ali to give him this honour because although he already had a close relationdhip with the prophet sallallaho alaihe wasallam because of his daughter Hafsah being a wife of the prophet, he wanted to strengthen his ties and relationship with the prophet sallallaho alaihe wasallam. Hazrat Ali radhi Allaho anho then agreed and Umme kulthoom , the daughter of Hazrat Ali and Fatimah , the grand-daughter of Rasoolullah and the sister of Hazrat Hasan and Husain was married to Hazrat Umar ibn Khattaab radhi Allaho anho. Hazrat Umar left Hazrat Ali so happy that he called out to people, O people ! Congratulate me! When people enquired as to why they should congratulate him, Ameerul momineen replied, Ali (radhi Allaho anho) has just agreed to give his daughter to me in marriage , This blessed marriage was approved by; -Hazrat Ali , the lion of Allah -Hazrat Hasan and Husain , grandsons of Rasoolullah and the leaders of the youth of paradise. If there was anything wrong with Hazrat Umar , or his iman or if he had wronged or oppressed the Ahle -bait and if they did not like him , this marriage would have never taken place. The fact is that it did take place and Allah blessed this marriage and granted the couple a son who was named Zaid bin Umar. This also proves that Hazrat Ali and all his family loved and honoured Hazrat Umar, so much so that they took him to be part of their family.. radhi Allaho anhum ajmaeen. So whatever anybody might think about Hazrat Umar, but Hazrat Ali, Hazrat Hasan and Hazrat Husain radhi Allaho anhum regarded Hazrat Umar to be a special enough believer worthy of being the husband of the grand daughter of prophet Muhammad sallallaho alaihe wasallam.
