He Was 22 I have said it before in my articles and here I say it again, life is brief and uncertain. Treasure the days of your life for they could end at any moment. He was 22, full of life and promise. He was shot dead on a pretty day jogging and enjoying life. The Bible says: Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. (James 4:14). Treasure this day well. For it may be gone so quickly. Love people, and above all, love God. Think of your eternal soul. Your just passing through. Your life is not about cars, houses, boats, Disney World, and fun and games. Yes, you can have the fun and should enjoy life but there is so much more. There is the spiritual. So many people neglect the spiritual. People take care of their social needs and their physical needs, and their intellectual needs. However, they often neglect the spiritual. All else is fleeting! There are reminders everywhere. There are hospitals that remind you of sickness and even death. There are nursing homes where people are growing old and dying one by one. There are funeral homes where the bodies of the dead are prepared for burial. There are mental hospitals where people are in darkness. There are prisons where souls are depraved. There are grave yards where there the dead are buried to await the resurrection. There are those ambulances soaring down the highway to remind you of tragedy and sorrow. All of these things are but reminders. Life is fleeting. It is passing by each of us daily. Many say goodbye every minute of the day. One minute will come that is your minute to say, goodbye. Some live long and die of old age in bed. Others like this young man in this post is just 22 and senselessly shot dead. Some are 10 and have cancer and will never be 11. Some are desperately holding on to life but soon will be gone. Life moves on and waits for no man. I plead with all, prepare to meet your God. Walk with God and have real security. Be born again as taught in John 3:1ff. Live a moral life (Gal. 5:21ff). Live a spiritual life (2 Pet. 1:5-11). Live a life of service to your fellow man (Matt. 25:31-46).
