He left in the early 70s a well paid job at Family Guardian after winning top awards and a promotion on the way to follow a path that was directed by God; she left a well established job at the Bahamas Musicians Union to accompany her husband along the pathway of new beginnings. My parents the late Bishop Samuel J.Alleyne and Helen (Alleyne) Taylor gathered my siblings and I journeyed on from Gladstone road to the Airport to catch that Flight of new beginnings with final stop in Cleveland Tenn. Little did we know that on that journey we would loose one of our luggage with new clothes etc; that so happened to drop off the car (back in the days either the luggage was strapped to the car). So hence began our journey of FAITH less one or two luggages. We kept on going. GOD STILL PROVIDED and we LACKED nothing from our moment of arrival until our mission was accomplished. Then there was one cold winter and our parents did not have the means to buy us anything (which we found out when we were grown) they never once showed us any signs of despair over financial matters, we operated on FAITH and contentment...That winter we got a tree branch, sprayed it and with glee decorated it with our flavor..we were Happy, We heard a knock on the door, a church member came by with a box filled with brand new toys! The whole message here is that our lives should be built on faith, and we must prove GOD to do beyond what we anticipate. We must teach our children the value of being Contented despite what maybe going on in our environment ..If you can not afford it dont get it...Christmas will come and go, some things you may not be able to get, but the Joy in knowing The real reason of Christmas will suffice all of that ...Then lastly MIRACLES do HAPPEN once WE believe...Hold on to FAITH, HOPE LOVE and watch GOD go beyond your EXPECTATIONS...
