He loved the pharmacy profession, he wanted to be one so dearly, - TopicsExpress

He loved the pharmacy profession, he wanted to be one so dearly, and he would have been. Taking a close look at his Part 1 results, you would clearly have seen the light of prominence and dedication to his supposed to be profession. He started out studying Chemistry at the University of Ilorin and was amidst the best students but he would not let go of his dream course so he crossed over to the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife (OAU). He was a very active person, a lover of sport. He scored the only goal that took Faculty of Pharmacy out of the group stage in the M.K.O. Abiola inter faculty competition in 2010. He represented not only the faculty, but OAU at large well at the National Fellowship of Christian Pharmacy Students convention hosted in 2009 by becoming the first in the relay race. He was at the same time a protocol member at that same convention. Believing in making impact, he was the Pharmaceutical Association of Nigerian Students (PANS), OAU chapter congress Chief whip Convincingly, he could have attained better heights in the same association. He was a committed member of the Deeper Life Campus fellowship He participated in a marathon race in Ibadan that same year in during the first semester break few months earlier. His last Laboratory he partook of was the Pharmaceutical Microbiology Lab on Friday, 8th October, 2010.He participated in the marathon race organised by the Students Union sponsored by the Industrial and General Insurance (IGI), plc., in which he was maintaining the second position few minutes to 9 a.m. on Saturday, 9th October, 2010 when he fell less than 100metres to the finish line and that was his last. You know who I am talking about, It is the Late DAMILOLA AKINKUNMI OLAOGUN Now is not the time of soberness, but it is time for a remembrance of him, the third and most especially the last by his classmates as students on campus. It is on this note that I wish to invite the generality of PANsites and Golden class members in particular for the “Remembrance and Commemoration’’ gathering in honour of him. DATE – 9th October, 2013 TIME – 12 noon VENUE – ODLT 1 We couldn’t save him from the cold hands of death, he couldn’t aspire further in life, he couldn’t make more than the impact he has made, but that which he made stays with us forever. Let us therefore in honour of him gather together to keep his memory alive. ‘Life after Death of Damilola Olaogun : What do we do from here?” He lived his life for something obvious and he died for it. You may ask, why should we bring to remembrance something we are trying to get over and cause another round of emotional outbreak? But in essence, did we ever forget Or have you also forgotten that “sweet is the memory of the righteous”? It is also important we do this at this time despite the ASUU strike because this is the time we his classmates will be graduating from school, a gathering which might not be as elaborate as this again. He was privilege to live for 21 years, remembrance gathering for few hours on 9th October is the least that can be done. To solidarize, kindly let us be in white and black on that day. Peradventure you have his picture(s), especially soft copies or any other thing that signifies his life and times, kindly give to any member of the executive. May our days be long. Thank you.
