He noted that the legality of executing the four remaining death - TopicsExpress

He noted that the legality of executing the four remaining death row inmates was in question… The Headline makes it sound much bigger than it is, only four. Causes me to wonder how many in Virginia are on “Death Row”. In A.D. 2009, I tried to stop Tim Kaine from the “Pen Murder” of Eddie Bell by his signing the execution order of a mentally retarded black man, in violation of the U.S. supreme Court opinion Atkins v. Virginia. The prosecutor of Bell, Paul Thomson, traveled from Winchester to Richmond to meet with then Governor Kaine. A reporter on his blog said that he was talking by cell phone with Thomson after his meeting with Kaine, and Thomson was happy he had persuaded Kaine to go ahead with the Execution. Later, Paul Thomson claimed to have tried to persuade Tim Kaine NOT to execute Bell. What do you believe? Who do you believe? Kaine, Thomson, or the blogger-reporter? (For full disclosure, the blogger-reporter was NOT me, I was only the last man to try to get Kaine to commute the death penalty to life imprisonment without parole, because in reading the state and federal court files, I saw that Bell was NOT the gunman who shot Policeman Ricky Timbrook. The Federal judge said his Public Defender Defense Counsel was a terrible example of assistance of counsel, so Bell never had a fair trial.)
