He said to them, But who do you say that I am? ~Matthew - TopicsExpress

He said to them, But who do you say that I am? ~Matthew 16:15 Jesus questioned the Pharisees about His identity saying What do you think about the Christ? Whose Son is He? They answered, saying, The Son of David. (Matthew 22:42) The identity of the Messiah was critical, and their answer was correct but incomplete. The Scriptures had affirmed that The Messiah would come and reign on the throne of His father David. But Jesus reminded them that though David would be Christs ancestor, He would also be more. Because David referred to Him as Lord of Lords. Faced with a similar question, Peter rightly answered, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God (Matthew 16:16). Still today, the question of Jesus identity rises above the rest in significance, and it is still eternally important that we make no mistake in understanding who He is, just as we too are often caught up in Mistaken Identity, as folk have a tendency to question who we are, how old we are, what we do and what do we really stand for, yet No Mistake is more dangerous than mistaking the identity of Jesus. Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail, in Thee do we trust, nor find Thee to fail. Thy mercies are tender, how firm to the end, Our Maker, Our Defender, Our Redeemer, Our Father...Our Friend! O what a Friend we have in Jesus! Good Morning and Happy Monday FaceBooK enjoy today as though you enjoyed yesterday, and although yesterday is gone and will never return, so as Today...its just a matter of Gods timing...so enjoy it!
