He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the - TopicsExpress

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Surely He will save thee from the fowlers snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover thee with His feathers, and underneath His wings thou shalt find refuge; His faithfulness wilt be thy shield and rampart. Psalms 91:1-4 Going through the gospel as inspired by the HolySpirit to John, we get deep insights into the person of Christ; neither is Christ mean with references to His real home, His Father there and His power to relate. But this only deeply conveyed to those who stayed with Him. There were many who came around for temporary duration and left with much, but what they got is by no fair means comparable to what those who chose to linger longer gained; and especially, them that stayed around out of intent to be with Him for who He was. In the beginning of the sixth chapter of this gospel we get the awing presentation of feeding the Five Thousand from a five-loaves-two-fish combo and an overflow of 12 baskets. Such an experience could surely warrant the going back of the recipients because out the realization that this Jesus was no ordinary man. The shocking revelation, however, comes in verse 26 of the same chapter when Jesus disapproves their overseas search for Him as a mere quest to fill their bellies. The statement that the LORD makes calls for a second-thought. That is, though the miraculous act that Christ performed of multiplication of food could not have been earlier witnessed by any of those present-since none of them was old enough to have been alive when prophet Elisha multiplied the widows oil-it did not stir their them to search who this person was. Rather, it is what they received that took the center-stage. It calls for retrospect of our central motives for seeking God. We might also side with Christ and wonder of the people of Galilee, How fleshy? Or, What a shallow-minded society? How disgraceful? and many other rebukes that are currently going through our mind; yet, we are not the better either. How often have we put our priorities before God? (And there no room given us to separate God from His will). How many times have we contemplated selling-off that phone or laptop or car when we noticed that it was starting to malfunction but never reveal this to those we are selling to?-We call it kuwa mjanja. How often have we opted to take plain-white ungodly alternatives because we felt He was taking long to come by? Have we only come to Him to the extent that and I you will find REST for your souls but we rarely hear that what follows is learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble at heart? Do we find ourselves having to, every now and then, come to Him simply because we are not staying with Him? How do we see ourselves, are we still motivated to be His follower even when we are in doubts if He shall truly give us what we have been asking of Him? Have we been moved by His miracle-working power or is what we can receive by the miracle(s) what kindles our search for Him? The truth is He will still continue good things; for no good thing shall He withhold from us. But we are called to be alert from the unmentioned but existent deception that makes what we want from Him our focus rather than Him as He is-I Am Who I Am. The line of difference may be extremely thin, but it is certainly discernible. This is why it is RETROSPECT. Those who dwell with Him have the real testimony of who He is. John 1:37-41 is the classic example: when Jesus asks John and Andrew what it is they seek, they reply, LORD, where do You dwell? He welcomes them to see His dwelling place. After being at His dwelling place, Andrews testimony to Simon is, We have found the Messiah. You may forget everything else, but remember this: There is Something about His Dwelling Place, and you are always welcomed. Joie de vivre
