Header came out in pieces. Those oscillating cutter tools are worth their weight in gold, no other way to do this job. Dont worry about the lack of a temporary support wall -- there was a gap between the header and both jack studs and gaps at all the criple studs, so there was zero weight on that header anyway. Lots of craters in the backside of the bedroom drywall, but thankfully, they dont go all the way through. No damage to the bedroom side that cant be fixed with a little paint. :) First coat of mud in the craters, tomorrow I tape and put the new header in.
