Heading to Xátł’odehchee in the morning (also known as Hay River, NWT) the traditional territory of the Long Spear people, located on the shores of Great Slave Lake. I have had a very personal relationship with the Katlodeeche First Nation community for many years. Im very excited to spend this week working with young filmmakers and slam poets as I spend tonight cutting the price tags off all the winter gear I just bought! On my first visit I met a drummer from the Northern Spirit Singers who traded CDs with me. I played this song over and over and over as I drove through the territory. It would be amazing to sit with their drum group while Im there.
