Headlines- Wednesday March 19- -A mix of messy weather is forecast for region today- for the last day of winter. Light snow is expected to start this morning and continue through the afternoon and into tonight. -A railroad blockade has been set up by First Nations in Napanee, between Belleville and Kingston. The blockade is affecting the movement of Via Rail trains on the Toronto-Montreal and Toronto-Ottawa routes in both directions. Via is using buses to get passengers to their destinations -Natural Resources Minister Joe Oliver will take over the position of Canadas finance minister, according to multiple reports. This comes after Jim Flaherty announced that he has decided to resign from cabinet. -Provincial Police say a total of 11 people have died so far this year in distracted driving-related collisions on O-P-P patrolled roads. A fine increase from 155 dollars to 280 dollars for distracted driving kicked in yesterday. -On Monday Smiths Falls Councillors named three buildings as culturally and architecturally significant. The town has 15 designated heritage properties, but this is a different category. -Crime Stoppers and the Smiths Falls Police Service are seeking your assistance in solving a theft.
