Health & Safety & Environment Manager - HSE (Spanish speaking) Health, Safety and Environment Manager - SHE Manager (Spanish speaking). Our client with its international mining operations would like to interview candidates for the position of Health, Safety and Environmental Manager. The incumbent will report to the Mine General Manager and will assume responsibility and accountability for Safety, Health, Environment . ESSENTIAL: Proficiency in English and Spanish, and mining experience. Provides strategic direction and leadership for the company’s Environmental Health and Safety Initiatives. Primary responsibilities include: • Strategic leadership of the Company’s various Environmental Health and Safety initiatives. • Assures that the company continuously improves their performance in Environmental Health and safety innovation while maintaining compliance with all local and government Environmental and Safety regulations. • Chairs various internal organizational teams/committees that help develop The Company’s Environmental & Safety mission, policies, and respective goals/objectives. • Serves as an agent of the company and representative/liaison to a variety of external entities including government and local agencies, customers, suppliers and industry related groups. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS • Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Safety & Health, EH & S Management or a related. • Minimum 10 years of leadership/managerial experience within the Environmental Health and Safety function in a mining environment is required UG and Surface. • COMSOC, SAMTRAC and all other safety related qualifications obtainable from the Mine Safety Division • Valid Certificate of Fitness & First Aid Certificate • Computer literacy - MS Office packages • Proven leadership and teamwork skills with demonstrated abilities to both work collaboratively and to influence those with whom no formal hierarchical relationship exists. • Highly effective written and verbal communications skills that can be used with people of various backgrounds, experience, and education levels. • Highly developed interpersonal communications skills and cultural sensitivity. Demonstrated highly effective platform presentation skills and training delivery skills. • Fluent in Spanish and English essential. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Develop the overall strategy of continuous improvement for The Company’s Environmental Health and Safety Initiatives. • Lead the efforts of the Company’s Environmental initiatives through development of the strategy, policies, goals and objectives for The Company’s various Environmental programs. • Help initiate a similar structure to support The Company’s Corporate Safety Team. • Enable the Company to implement the various environmental programs necessary to meet corporate environmental goals. • Provide technical expertise, strategic leadership, and support for all of The Company’s various safety, health and environmental programs and ensure regulatory compliance issues in Safety and Environmental Health. • Understand the all potential safety and environmental hazards used/present at all company sites, take steps to identify and address any potential safety and environmental health hazards. • Represent the company on various committees and forums as appropriate to support the Company’s Environmental and Safety strategies. • Create and maintain program and management systems to ensure that The Company’s various Safety and Environmental Health certifications, accreditations, and compliance efforts are developed and continuously improved. • Provide strategic leadership to ensure the development, implementation and maintenance of strategic Environmental initiatives The position is a residential position (with international client) and it will be expected that the incumbent relocate for the duration of the contract to take up employment there.
