Health and sanitation: Our fifth campaign Sanitation and health are key indicators of human development. The gaping sanitation deficit in our country gives us an opportunity to improve lives of people. Our government will convert this adversity into an opportunity and ensure access to toilets in the new state, safe water and underground sewerage. Community toilets, individual toilets, toilets in schools (for boys and girls) will be built in every mandal. To ensure access to curative medical services, we will provide cost-effective public health services to citizens. We will create an effective public health network, offer corporate hospital-like treatment in government hospitals and offer generic medicines available to all. I appeal to people to ensure hygienic practices, from washing hands before meals to the use of long-armed ladles for drinking water pots. I’m confident that this will create an integrated public health system involving food safety, water management, waste disposal, vector control, sanitation systems and health education.
