Health workers at the highly acclaimed Hastings #Ebola treatment centre in #SierraLeone have threatened to stop work unless their weekly risk allowances are paid. Over a dozen of them who beg for anonymity have told me that they have not been paid for six weeks. Deputy health minister Madinatu Rahman denies knowledge of the backlog. She however told me that there had been issues with verification of workers numbers as they were now paid through a mobile phone transfer system. Workers at the Lakka care centre say they have not been paid theirs since 17 DECEMBER.
