Heanor Town FC V Staveley MWFC Double Header Heanor Town and Staveley MWFC are scheduled to meet on consecutive Saturday’s. These two games are so hard to call with statistics indicating they could be really tight games between two sides with remarkable statistical similarities. Lets take a look at the first scheduled game and relevant statistics. The two teams are 3 points apart, albeit Staveley have a game in hand. Their goal difference is the same. Heanor have the best defence and 9th best attack. Staveley have the 6th best attack and 5th best defence. Both teams having miserly defences with 19 and 21 conceded but seem not to be high scorers relative to their league position and teams around them scoring just above 2 per game. Both sides have won 6 games by the odd goal. Heanor have 8 clean sheets Staveley 7. Both teams have goalkeepers rated by many people as the best in the NCEL by far. Heanor have only scored 20 at home, 10th best in the league, Staveley have scored only 15 away the 11th best in the league but at home defensively Heanor have the second best defensive record and Staveley the second best away defence. Heanor have drawn once at home and Staveley haven’t had an away draw yet. Staveley have won their last 10 league games in which time Heanor have won 6 drawn 1 lost 3. They have met 4-times in the NCEL, Staveley have won twice, drawn and lost one. Heanor have arguably some of the best individual players in the Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire area and have a high number of contracted players and are littered with Evostick experience. Staveley will have 8 or 9 U21 players in their squad few with Evostick experience. It is an obvious statistical conundrum, where both teams are so closely matched. Games on Boxing days and/or around Christmas/New Year always produce some real shock results with some non-league players lets say being distracted and perhaps not as match fit as they should be The statistics above indicate there is nothing between these two sides. Could it be a draw ? Can Heanor or Staveley nick it by the odd goal or will one side excel and the other fall apart ? Go and see for yourselves !!!! Good luck Jas/Ryan and the lads
