Hear Ye, Hear Ye. A challenge has been sent and reputations are at stake!! Trinity and I have the finish line in sight, but we do need your help over this last hurdle. We are running a raffle, a big 1. Tickets cost $20 First prize is HALF a beef. . Second prize 1/4 Beef. Processed and Packaged. Drawn 1st August 2013. Will transport to Auckland if needed. Now the challenge I refer to (All in the spirit of healthy competition) is between my Lee and McLean Whanau. Standing in Red corner Lincoln Savage and in the Blue Hemoiti Lee. The incentive is the remaining 1/4. To the victor go the spoils. So To all our family and friends feel free to choose your side. What ever you decide to do, the Kaupapa remains the same, our Trinity gets recognition for her achievements and the opportunity to visit the places her Great grandfather fought in WWII. I have included a short blurb for those who have yet to hear/see our bragging In 2012 Trinity - student of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Pukemiro was awarded 1st place in the National Junior Section of the Ngarimu VC 28th Maori Battalion Memorial Essay Competition. Her Best friend Te Auparo Piripi came 2nd. To celebrate the accomplishment, to date unprecendented in New Zealand, where two students form the same school have received such awards, the family/whanau are fundraising to join a planned commemoration tour to some of the places where the Pioneer Maori Battalion were stationed in Europe. It will be the first time that a Kura from Kaitaia has undertaken such a journey: another unprecented exploit for our school and community. With your continued support we will be able to participate. On that note, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Brian Kitchen Contractors and R.C. Lee Incorporated for donating the beef.
