Heard about a family member receiving jury duty today... Brought back WONDERFUL memories of my mom who had never been called to serve UNTIL her early 60s.. We laughed for days leading up. trying to figure a way to get her out of it.. After jury selection, we expected to hear from her telling us she was excused and we would be going to lunch... Nope! They WANTED HER and it was a high profile case she was not permitted to speak about.. 2 WEEKS SHE WALKED AROUND WITH HER MOUTH SEALED TIGHTER THAN A CLAM.. It wasnt any murder trial or anything of the sort, but for those 2 weeks, my mother was in her glory, arguing herself right to the chief position of foreman! After the news cameras cleared the courthouse and the sentence was handed down she still said very little. Dad and I read the details of the trial in the paper.. She was so proud to have performed her civic duty. And We were proud of her!!
