Heart of a Warrior – “And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them together in perfect unity.” Colossians 3:14 Virtue is a behavior showing a high morale standard. There are many different words to describe a high morale standard, such as nobility, purity, decency, and honor. The list can be quite lengthy. Many good behaviors fall in the category of a life that represents virtue. The world would be a better place if more people modeled some virtuous living. That is spelled out for us in a couple of verses, v12 and 13. But there is one word that is above any word that represents virtue, and that word is love. The word love sets itself apart from the words under the topic of virtue. And the difference that sets love apart, it is a verb, it is an action word. Or at least in terms the way Jesus modeled it for you and I. Love took action when God made man in is His image, love took action with the woman at the well, love took action when the paralytic was lowered through the roof of the house, and the ultimate action scene for love was the sacrifice on the cross. Jesus was a compete representation of the person that you and I need to model this word called love. The highest form of Glory to be given to God from the life you have left to give, is to give love. There are plenty of ways to be a person of virtue, but let love lead the way and bind all the virtuous attributes together in your life. I would rather be a person that loved much than be a person of a 100 different virtues. SDG13-DAD
