However, ice build-up on the condensing unit fan blade could cause issues: Mix all 3 ingredients together and pour into a spray bottle or yard sprayer. If you use a yard sprayer make sure to increase the concentration level. surfaces with this mixture and the ice will quickly be gone. If you dont have a spray bottle, the ingredients can be poured on the ice. Use this method in moderation. Do not try to pour hot water directly on the condensing unit. This could case major damage to the unit. Your emergency/back-up heat will or may be a better option for your heating during the evening Set your thermostats down to a reasonable temperature 67-70; raising the temperature will not warm your home up more than the thermal balance point of the insulation in the walls, ceiling, windows and doors Most heat pumps are designed to maintain a 68-70 degree set point at 28-30 degree outdoor temperatures Hope everyone stays warm!
