Heaven & Earth VI: As Above, So Below Artist of the day, Thursday, June 19th, 2014 Michael Todd Harrison michaeltoddharrison Michael Harrison was born in Salina, Kansas, in 1965, and currently lives and works professionally as a studio artist in Seattle, Washington. He has studied at the University of Kansas as well as the Kansas City Art Institute. Michael worked for over 20 years in the printing and publishing industry as a printer and graphic designer. Growing up in Kansas, Michael is heavily influenced by the forces of nature. He spent many days in the basement with his family growing up, riding out tornadoes. There were always powers at work greater than what he could see around him. Other profound influences and inspirations include pop music, pop art, graphic design, folk art, nature, dreams, communication, joy and despair. This wide-ranging convergence of influence conspires to create intriguing, lush and thoughtful works that ask the viewer to spend a little time getting to know them.
