Heavenly Father, As we begin this new day, we pray Lord, that you would help us to be full of wonder…help us to let go of the cares of this world… help us to block out the negativity and anger that surround us…all the noise from the media and all the things that vie for our attention. Help us to focus on you and the reason we celebrate Christmas. May we fall in love with you all over again as we think about your great love for us and the wondrous meaning and significance of your birth. So many praying with us are hurting and dreading the holidays, we ask that you fill each one with the joy of their salvation…with your joy that is their strength. Help us not to miss the beauty and wonder that surrounds us this season. Help us not to be in such a hurry that we miss the signs that you give us that let us know that you are with us even in the midst of our struggles…Emmanuel…God with us… even your name says so much…what a blessing to embrace and celebrate that we need never be alone. Thank you, Lord. Help us to visualize what awaits us… spending eternity with you… feeling your peace and joy in ways beyond anything weve ever known… Being filled to overflowing as we see your smile for the first time and being held in your loving embrace…. may we be filled with anticipation like a kid waiting for Christmas morning when we think of you. May we focus on you during this Holy Season and be filled with awestruck wonder and joy as we think about and prepare to celebrate your birth. May those thoughts bring comfort and peace to the hurting and the lonely and may thoughts of you overshadow everything else. We know you are aware of our every need and we thank you in advance for what you are doing for us. We love you Lord and we thank you that we have a Savior in whose name we can pray, Amen. Praying you feel His peace and His joy in your heart today!
