Heavenly Father, I am writing from my heart now to give a testimony about my road to salvation, and Sozo. I am writing this because someone else may be on the road that I once was, or may need to think about, if they are ready to meet the Lord if they were to die today. I was raised Catholic and I thank God for that, it gave me a foundation to know who Jesus was from the very beginning of my life. Speaking of that upbringing, water baptism, is not the thing that saves a person. That is an ordinance of the Church as well as taking the Eucharist is one also. Things we do because we are saved or born-again, not to achieve it. I was seeking the Lords salvation and I thought the way to get it was going up in front of the church during altar call. I did that eight times, over a period of years and I still felt a nagging feeling of unbelief that I was born again. I have come to know that I am going to heaven by faith in the Word, Jesus and no other way. Going up during an altar call if you have faith at that time is good, many people have been saved like that, in a powerful experience. It just did not happen to me that way. I really never tried to memorize Romans 10:9,10 but I was able to say it and believe it, without any effort. Like I say, I never tried to memorize it, I guess just reading it gave my spirit (little s) a chance by the Spirit (capital S) to absorb it, and receive (believe) it. I could say it by memory right off. The point right now is to speak to everyone, and my settings for my Facebook is Public, that everyone needs this born-again. or being saved experience for themselves. We need to have a exact specific date and time that it happened or know in the present that we can say we have had a born again experience somewhere along our seeking Christ and His righteousness. Not ours His. When we work: GOD RESTS. WHEN WE REST:GOD WORKS! We need to know that we had a big salvation experience or, have a knowing in our heart that we have received His salvation , SOZO. Its like if I asked you in person, Do you believe that I am standing in front of you? You would not believe it: YOU WOULD KNOW IT. Thats the kind of sureness we need in our eternal relationship with God through Christ Jesus. Once we have a saving experience through the Word, we can trust and rely on not only Romans 10:9,10 but Ephesians 2:8,9 to realize like I did, that I could not make it happen by my effort. God supplied all the hard work on the cross and we need to apply His Finished Work for the rest of our earthly relationship with Him. God bless you and I hope that something I said in this post will help someone to be able to say, Yes, I am sure, by faith that I will see the Lord Jesus face to face when I die. We all need that Blessed Assurance that can only come from the Word. The Lord Jesus.
