Heavenly Father, as I begin this new day you have blessed me with, I do not know what will come to me and what will happen to me during the day ahead. Guard and protect me as the hours of the day pass by. When I am going the wrong way, take me to the right path; When I have to make important decisions, guide me to do no wrong; When I find it difficult to be your witness before people, Give me the courage not to be ashamed to make myself known as belonging to you. If all should go well with me and my understanding today, Keep me from pride and protect me from feeling no need of your help. If things should go wrong and I should meet with failures, disappointment or suffering of any kind, Help me to hold on to you and never despair, but rebuild my hope in your loving care. I ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
