Hebrews (1:3) He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. Hebrews (1:3) ESV A picture of Christ and the power of His might. What does it mean to be like your father, not your heavenly father but your earthly one? Through genetics we are encoded by certain traits both good and bad and we inherit these from our parents. The same color eyes, the same color hair, we inherit the same walk, height and stature. However it is through learning and imitation that we take on some of their greatest strengths and weaknesses. How well we face challenges comes from a learned behavior if when we were children we faced challenges head on and had no fear of failure or never experienced ridicule, we are more likely to step out in faith. Christ is my safety net. Let us talk for a minute about attitude and how this is also a learned behavior. Our attitudes can either be a hindrance to our success or a benefit. In this passage Christ is described as the radiance of Gods glory, let us stop and ponder that just for a moment, let us reflect on what the word radiance means to fill the room or one’s heart with light and warmth, to encompass all. Can you feel the power in that statement? Christ the exact imprint of the true nature of God. This is the quest and purpose not to become, but to become like. Today’s prayer: Heavenly father we are thankful for your word and Christ. We ask by thy might and thy power you bring truth and light to the darkness of some men’s hearts. We ask that by the radiance and the power of your word that chains be broken and lives be change. We ask that you use us as that conduit. Let us speak boldly of thy power, mercy and grace. We pray for the hungry, the sick, the misguided, and the lame. We ask that you touch, heal, guide and restore by thy will and in Jesus name. Amen Today’s challenge: is to be a spark of that radiant light let the word of God and the teachings of Christ be imprinted on your heart and in your life. God loves us and Jesus saves and forever let the Holy Spirit be the guiding light in the darkest of days. This week’s memory verse: 1 John (5:10-11) 10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 1 John (5:10-11) KJV Love God, love people and live well in and through Christ. Love to all (Uncle Sam)
