Hebrews 4:11-14 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter - TopicsExpress

Hebrews 4:11-14 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience. For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. Hebrews 11 is about entering a promised Sabbath rest. We can only enter this rest by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. The word of God is so precisely able to judge the thoughts and attitudes of the heart, that our only hope is in Christ. In Christ we are made righteous, we did not earn it, nor could we ever earn that righteousness. Our minds, hearts, motives, and everything is an open book to God. This is why holding fast to our confession is what saves us and escorts us into His promised Sabbath rest. There is not one person that can stand before God apart from Jesus. Let His grace become real in your life and know that it is always enough. Verse/Commentary courtesy of Verse-A-Day app. verse-a-day/Apps
