Hebrews 6:1 A foundation for our belief is repentance for and from dead works. Before we are born again we are spiritually dead. Any works done before being born again of the Spirit are said to be dead works. In the garden death of the spirit came upon all of mankind. In Adam all died, but on the cross and by the resurrection of Jesus all can be reborn, not of flesh, but of the Spirit of God. In Christ Jesus we are made alive. (Spiritually) The foundation of faith is coupled with repentance. Faith in God, the same God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Without faith it is impossible to please God, for those coming to Him must believe that He is. Faith and repentance are two of the foundations of true doctrine.
