Hebrews 6:12 We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate - TopicsExpress

Hebrews 6:12 We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised. Hebrews 6:15 And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised. In both of these verses, one words sticks out to me: PATIENCE. Sometimes it is so hard to wait for Gods plan to unfold. I find myself wanting to manipulate circumstances so that I can see the calling I feel God has placed on my life, come to fruition. The thought of Well, I can just.... to get things rolling.... often enters my mind. I quickly have to let go of this thought because it will lead me down the path of doing Dawns will instead of Gods will. My daughter reminds me often of the simple yet powerful prayer Your will be done. Sometimes I find myself praying for specific things to occur, and I find myself praying for these things to occur in MY time, rather than His time. I love when I am reminded, like in Hebrews 6, to remain patient - it is God who will move, according to His purposes and in His time. My part is to say Yes to the call, and then to wait patiently for Him to move. That doesnt mean I do nothing... it just means I dont push my own timeline or will into the situation. There is a beautiful song that I enjoy, I believe it is called While Im waiting. The refrain is While Im waiting....I will serve You while Im waiting....I will love You while Im waiting... Today, I will practice patience.... in everything.
